Discovering you have ADHD as an adult can be a relief ( you finally know what's going on) and overwhelming (grieving the younger version of you that felt misunderstood, rejected and isolated.) My work is integrative and flexible, drawing from approaches such as Nervous System Regulation, Somatic Practices that support mind-body awareness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Grounded in clinical training and lived experience, I support adults navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma.
Life can feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety, depression, past trauma, or relationship challenges make it hard to feel like yourself. You may struggle with boundaries, get stuck in negative thought patterns, or feel unsure of your next steps. Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to face these challenges alone, or already have all the answers. I provide a collaborative, compassionate approach, meeting you where you are. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, shift unhelpful patterns, strengthen coping skills, and foster a more balanced, fulfilling life.

As a counsellor I show up just as I am and offer a genuine, heartfelt, relaxed environment with very little clinical feel. I intend to do this so that you will feel as comfortable walking into my office as you would walking into a friend’s living room. The relationship we will create together will be one of value, tailored to your individual needs and reasons for seeking therapy. I typically work with individuals ages 14 and over with various mental health concerns. Whether that’s struggling in daily life at home, work, school, in relationships, or you are an athlete facing a mental hurdle. This is about you and your needs.

My clients come longing for stress relief for themselves or someone close, better relationship health, help with self-care and life meaning, and/or boundary support with others. Many experience significant grief and trauma. Parents want support in helping their children to grow holistically with a sense of self agency, cultural fluidity, meaningful life insights, and innovative/creative energy. Some come due to conflicted family breakups and needing support with loving, developmental missing pieces, and overcoming parental neglect or bypassing, or overcoming addictions.

Many of the problems we experience in life can be traced back to parts of ourself that are wounded or not properly integrated. I help you to reflect and make sense of your experience, and to work through areas of your life that bring discomfort. In moving through these discomforts/stuck areas in a new way, you release these wounds, become free from their grasp & move into more aligned, embodied & authentic living. We cannot fully integrate (become whole in our life) unless we heal & integrate all parts - including shadow work, healing parental and childhood wounds, ego work, sacred sexuality, reprogramming belief systems etc.

I offer heart centred counselling for those committed to growth. I support Highly Sensitive People (HSP) and those struggling with anxiety or relationships. As humans, we thrive in connection. Having followed a path of self-discovery through Gestalt and Internal Family Systems, I want to share the healing modalities that have brought me clarity, freedom and joy. This is brave work. In counselling, you and I co-create a space where you can listen to and understand all parts of you. When the parts of you that have suffered are heard, loved and feel connected, they will transform.

Are you feeling stuck repeating the same patterns, relational habits, or putting other people's needs before your own? Is your pain, grief, or past resentments continuing to surface and it's getting more difficult to suppress or ignore? Are you ready to lean in and confront some thoughts and feelings that might feel messy, complicated, or uncomfortable? You deserve to have the space to say exactly what you're thinking without feeling like you have to walk on eggshells, censor yourself, or live in fear of judgement. What you are feeling and experiencing deserves to be acknowledged and processed, and I want to help with that.

ADHD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
