70 years of life experience has been my best teacher (even though I have all the necessary professional training.) I have experienced loss when 2 spouses passed away from disease. I have won my own battles with cancer and addiction. I have raised 4 children, 2 step children (some with special needs) and now enjoy 12 grandchildren. I treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and anger by addressing the root of the problem - trauma. I am trained in EMDR, which is useful in healing PTSD (both childhood and adult trauma). Within minutes (not months) the pain of trauma can be permanently erased and people are less triggered in life.

I bring a holistic, trauma-informed, client centred approach to counselling! I have a background in psychology, biology, social work and clinical counselling.
I work with diverse individuals and families to address challenges around emotions, mood, behaviour, relationships, communication and boundaries. Often we need more support during times of big transitions in life including: relocating, changes to employment, new relationship or family member, marriage, illness, divorce, retirement, graduation, trauma, or loss. I strive to empowering people and finding strengths, whilst supporting desired growth and change. Often we find ourselves busy and overwhelmed and things get off track. Have you noticed changes in your self-image, mood, health, habits, and relationships?

My work is influenced by trauma-informed practice and embodiment theory.
Are you seeking support for religious trauma, complex trauma, your relationship with food and body, or scrupulosity OCD? Emotional, physical and spiritual pain can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, others, and the world around us. These disconnections can make it difficult to manage in our daily lives - let alone find support. However, I believe that therapy is one of the ways that we can begin the process of re-connecting with our selves, bodies, and communities. In our work together, I will seek to provide an openness that meets you where you’re at with empathy and non-judgement.

If you have experienced trauma or adversity in your early life, or have faced challenges such as addiction, these issues can deepen that disconnection.
I am deeply committed to guiding individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and explore their inner worlds. I believe that lasting change begins with how we relate to ourselves and others. When we build a more compassionate and authentic connection with our inner experiences, we can move through difficulties with clarity and confidence, creating lives filled with meaning and purpose. Rather than focusing solely on resolving difficult emotions or thoughts, I help clients develop healthier ways to engage with their inner landscape.

I am now offering neurostimulation therapies to treat anxiety, depression, substance use, learning and trauma.
Life can bring interesting challenges. I also have training in school psychology and also have an in-depth background in neurological disease/injury, family mediation, conflict resolution, developmental/complex trauma, and mood disorders. I work with individuals across the lifespan, from adolescents to mature adults, who are managing issues such as trauma, illness (including chronic and complex illness), relationships, anxiety, sensory sensitivities, and the full range of nervous system expressions of dysregulation. I guide people on the journey of discovering the wisdom of their bodies and its impetus to find regulation and wellness. We use physiological cues and clues to guide the session along with dialogue, imagery and at times movement. We take pieces in a paced and tolerable way to build capacity and safety within the context of change.
