I am also a trained EMDR therapist - contact me to learn more about this evidence-based treatment for trauma.
Traumatic experiences can overwhelm our nervous system and our natural ability to cope with and process events. This can leave us struggling with a number of symptoms such as feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, irritable, numb, easily startled, and distrustful of others and the world around us. Re-establishing a sense of safety is an important first step in working through these experiences. I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves. Counsellors can act as guides to help people learn the skills to tolerate distress and overcome challenges.

With 16 years of experience in a variety of settings, I offer expertise in trauma work and incorporate a wide variety of tools such as: EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Touch Training, Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hour (RYT500) and have special interest in grief, bereavement and trauma and how people move through these intense times with more ease and resilience.
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and a Certified EMDR Therapist with over 16 years of experience. By gently interweaving both these modalities, EMDR becomes more gentle! I am passionate about journeying alongside my clients to aid a deeper loving connection with self and in turn with others. By incorporating the mind body connection my clients welcome parts of themselves and their lives that at one time may have been excruciating into an integral, whole and beautiful self. EMDR helps process through the most painful experience so that we can see ourselves in a new and resilient light. It’s such an honour!

Using SE, we will track your body's sensations to gently release survival energy held in the nervous system, renegotiating trauma and restoring the body, mind and emotions to wholeness and well-being.
Are you ready to heal? Physical pain, anxiety and depression associated with trauma/overwhelming experiences can be compounded by frustration and hopelessness when telling our story doesn't bring relief. After trauma, we can remain seemingly stable for many years until the body's management strategies begin to falter, as the nervous system reaches it's capacity to cope. Trauma has often been misunderstood by doctors and therapists alike, overlooked or dismissed as a key factor in our overall health. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a highly specialized therapy that effectively treats trauma, supporting healing where the rupture has occurred - in the nervous system.

As a counsellor, I am privileged to have supported many clients wrestling with different struggles, such as: PTSD. Emotional Trauma. Anxiety / Stress. Depression. Low Self-Esteem / Confidence. Addiction / Substance abuse. Some of the benefits in seeking for support / therapy are: Discovering underlying issues or beliefs that can block or restrict happiness. * Improving relationship with yourself / others. * Developing more confidence. * * Creating changes through self-discovery and therefor implementing effective ways and strategies, creating custom fit solutions to any barriers and blockage. Overcoming stress, anxiety, addiction without the need of a "quick fix" or a temporary unhealthy coping mechanism

I specialize in trauma-informed modalities such as PSIP, IFS, AEDP, and EMDR, blending holistic and integrative approaches to create safe, transformative healing spaces.
I'm dedicated to helping us understand the unconscious processes that shape our behaviours. These patterns, often rooted in early childhood, continue to influence our lives today. As experiential beings, we're shaped by our relationships and environments— healing is something we do together, not in isolation. Through psychotherapy, we create a brave, attuned space for relational healing and corrective emotional experiences, fostering our personal growth and creating lasting change.

70 years of life experience has been my best teacher (even though I have all the necessary professional training.) I have experienced loss when 2 spouses passed away from disease. I have won my own battles with cancer and addiction. I have raised 4 children, 2 step children (some with special needs) and now enjoy 12 grandchildren. I treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and anger by addressing the root of the problem - trauma. I am trained in EMDR, which is useful in healing PTSD (both childhood and adult trauma). Within minutes (not months) the pain of trauma can be permanently erased and people are less triggered in life.

I offer online and in-person mental health support in the form of individual counselling, couples counselling, and/or family counselling! I specialize in working with anxiety/phobias, depression, trauma, grief, and substance use.
“Grow through what you go through”. I like to call myself a “WHY” therapist. I believe that clients grow through their experiences starting from their “roots” (or their childhood). I believe that growing through experiences that may have stemmed from traumatic events in life or maladaptive ways of being, are the pinnacle of a therapeutic experience. I am here to guide you on your journey to self-actualization and improved mental health.
