I tend to rely on EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, IFS, and psychodynamic approaches.
There are times in life that can leave us feeling vulnerable and alone - my goal is to come alongside you, so you don't have to feel this way. If you are struggling with guilt, shame, life transitions, anxiety, depression or other mental health concerns, I can help. I also support adults, teens, and parents who are struggling with relationship dynamics, suicidal ideation, or those who have experienced traumatic events.

Sessions may consist of exploring your past and present relationships and attachment style, inner child and shadow work, coaching, somatic exercises, intuitive work, spiritual guidance, analyzing dreams, and more.
Using a depth-psychodynamic approach, I help you get to the root of the issues in your life to make lasting positive changes. A depth (or Jungian) perspective looks into the unconscious forces at play while a psychodynamic perspective allows us to see how your past is playing out in your present relationships. I have an eye for spotting the patterns that are limiting your growth then I use a compassionate yet challenging approach and gentle confrontation to get you unstuck and out of shame, confusion, and depression. Above all, my focus is to empower and reconnect you with your inner truth and authentic confidence.

With 16 years of experience in a variety of settings, I offer expertise in trauma work and incorporate a wide variety of tools such as: EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Touch Training, Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hour (RYT500) and have special interest in grief, bereavement and trauma and how people move through these intense times with more ease and resilience.
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and a Certified EMDR Therapist with over 16 years of experience. By gently interweaving both these modalities, EMDR becomes more gentle! I am passionate about journeying alongside my clients to aid a deeper loving connection with self and in turn with others. By incorporating the mind body connection my clients welcome parts of themselves and their lives that at one time may have been excruciating into an integral, whole and beautiful self. EMDR helps process through the most painful experience so that we can see ourselves in a new and resilient light. It’s such an honour!

Clients present with a variety of concerns, needs, and goals. Most clients will be struggling with some concerns around anxiety and/or depression. I will meet with the client for a thorough history, identify priorities in what the clients wish to work on, and then collaboratively develop a treatment approach. I use grounding exercises with a focus on our somatic senses to help calm the client and understand their struggles. Clients are invited to share dreams with me, their beliefs and their values. Together, we work with to understand the beliefs and values. and how these "fit" into their life.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a relational approach, incorporating elements of Attachment-Based Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Play Therapy, and EMDR.
Are you looking for support with anxiety, emotional regulation, relationship issues, trauma, or just becoming a better version of yourself? Know that you are not alone. I believe that life has a way of making us feel lost, we lose touch with our inner compass, making it difficult to navigate relationships or to tap into joy. You shouldn't have to take this on alone though, which is why it is my goal to come alongside you so we can wade the complexity of life together. I know with the right support life doesn't have to feel so "blah". If you are ready to dig deep, you are in the right place!

My approach draws from cognitive-behavioural therapy, humanistic client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices that incorporate somatic components to address trauma stored in the body.
Hello, I'm Nicholle Miller, a counsellor in training with experience working with people who face a variety of challenges in life, including trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, depression, and problems in relationships and families. I became a counsellor as I grew up experiencing child abuse and neglect resulting in CPTSD and chronic pain and illness diagnoses. I know firsthand how counselling and the work done between sessions can empower someone to break free from the surviving mechanisms that allowed them to move through the trauma but are now preventing them from creating the life they want.

I use talk therapy, EMDR, and somatic experiencing (body awareness & processing) to help clients move through, process and hopefully release those traumas.
Hello! I am currently taking new clients and can offer short wait times. I work with adults who are seeking help with life changes, relationship challenges, parenting challenges, mental health issues (in themselves or in their partners), or anything that is preventing them from being their best self. Ideally my clients would be interested in getting to the root of their issues, and be committed to several sessions. I know we are all "enough", and that the answers we seek lie within ourselves. Sometimes a counsellor can help you find those answers, and I'd be honored to try.

I use an integrative approach, combining emotional, cognitive & somatic therapies to treat the whole person.
I've been practicing since 1995 & I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor & Marriage & Family Therapist. However, I am now only accepting individual clients 18+. It's clear to me that we can all struggle, even if we are successful in other areas of our lives. Life can be unpredictable & the stress & demands of everyday life, work & relationships can take its toll. As stressors build, you may find yourself struggling with anxiety, mood, eating, body image issues or turning to addictive behaviours. You may also find that unresolved grief or past trauma keeps seeping into your daily life & especially when you least want or expect it.

My approach is multidimensional and personalized, drawing from various evidence-based practices, which include somatic, attachment, and mindfulness. While we can’t predict how we might respond to challenging situations, we can work to renegotiate our memories by accessing our body’s unique means of responding to triggers. The method is layered; together, we might consider your earliest attachments in childhood, how you have interpreted a traumatic experience and even your intersectionalities on a macro level. Once this evidence is gathered, activation is located in the physical body, energy is addressed and worked with somatically.

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
