I help them reconnect with their self-worth and explore their identity, supporting emotional healing and growth.
You may look like you’re functioning on the outside, but inside you feel disconnected from yourself, unsure what you want, or tired of living by everyone else’s expectations. I work with people who want to understand their patterns, heal old hurts, and reconnect with their own voice, needs, boundaries, and sense of self. Maybe this is showing up as anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship conflict, grief, or feeling easily triggered. Maybe you’ve gone through a major life change, loss, divorce, faith transition, or other upheaval, and you’re trying to understand who you are now.

Sessions focus on increasing emotional awareness, story integration, nervous system regulation, and building internal safety. I acknowledge the nuances of each person’s lived experience and offer inclusive support for members of the BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ communities.

I believe that each person has the ability to improve their life; to become closer to who they want to be. No problem is too difficult to face with the right kind of support. Many people are suffering on their own or feeling stuck in patterns that keep them from having the life they want. Counselling can change this.

Using a depth-psychodynamic approach, I help you get to the root of the issues in your life to make lasting positive changes. A depth (or Jungian) perspective looks into the unconscious forces at play while a psychodynamic perspective allows us to see how your past is playing out in your present relationships. I have an eye for spotting the patterns that are limiting your growth then I use a compassionate yet challenging approach and gentle confrontation to get you unstuck and out of shame, confusion, and depression. Above all, my focus is to empower and reconnect you with your inner truth and authentic confidence.

Are you DONE just talking about and understanding your challenges? Not to say that insight isn't important but healing often requires more than insight alone. Using BRAIN-BODY based approaches such as Somatic Experiencing & Brainspotting, we work directly with the nervous system to access patterns held beneath conscious awareness. By engaging the deeper brain (subcortical & brainstem) and your body's natural capacity to heal, these approaches can help shift stuck survival responses, build regulation, and create meaningful change from the inside out.

Currently on maternity leave. Our feelings, thoughts, and relationships can be messy. Sometimes, it all feels like it’s just too much. I know what that’s like. I also know it’s a little bit easier when, instead of turning away, someone chooses to sit with you in those moments and says: "This isn’t too much. You’re not (insert terrible thing you fear is true about you). You don’t have to hold this alone.” I believe that’s my job as a therapist – to sit with you in the midst of all that messiness and help you hold the painful and overwhelming parts. From there, we can work together to untangle it and move towards your goals.

I help individuals and couples regain control, overcome decision paralysis, and make value aligned choices in career, relationships, and life.

I work primarily with adults navigating trauma, attachment wounds, neurodiversity-related concerns, self-worth, relationships, and identity exploration.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe many of the strategies we develop to survive (people-pleasing, perfectionism, hyper-independence, masking, self-criticism) made sense at one point, even if they’re no longer serving you. Together, we can explore these patterns while building a stronger connection to your authentic self.

Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
