Do You Say You're Fine, But Your Body Tells a Different Story? Let’s Uncover What’s Really Going On! As a clinician, I draw from both top-down (mind-based) and bottom-up (body-based) approaches to support healing and integration. We might explore your thoughts and patterns to make sense of your experiences, or gently work with the nervous system to release what has been held in the body. My work is grounded in somatic therapy, relational connection, and the belief that healing happens not just through insight, but through lived, safe experiences—one step at a time. Therapy with me is paced, compassionate, and experiential.

I work with young adults navigating trauma, identity, self-criticism, and the many challenges that life can bring. As a newcomer to Canada, I grasp the intricacies of finding belonging and defining identity. I also understand how challenging vulnerability can feel, especially when opening up to others hasn’t always felt safe. With a warm and compassionate approach, I aim to reconnect clients with their own strengths, self-understanding, and capacity to grow.

I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and a Certified EMDR Therapist with over 18 years of experience. By gently interweaving both these modalities, EMDR becomes more gentle! I am passionate about journeying alongside my clients to aid a deeper loving connection with self and in turn with others. By incorporating the mind body connection my clients welcome parts of themselves and their lives that at one time may have been excruciating into an integral, whole and beautiful self. EMDR helps process through the most painful experience so that we can see ourselves in a new and resilient light. It’s such an honour!

Using a depth-psychodynamic approach, I help you get to the root of the issues in your life to make lasting positive changes. A depth (or Jungian) perspective looks into the unconscious forces at play while a psychodynamic perspective allows us to see how your past is playing out in your present relationships. I have an eye for spotting the patterns that are limiting your growth then I use a compassionate yet challenging approach and gentle confrontation to get you unstuck and out of shame, confusion, and depression. Above all, my focus is to empower and reconnect you with your inner truth and authentic confidence.

Currently on maternity leave. Our feelings, thoughts, and relationships can be messy. Sometimes, it all feels like it’s just too much. I know what that’s like. I also know it’s a little bit easier when, instead of turning away, someone chooses to sit with you in those moments and says: "This isn’t too much. You’re not (insert terrible thing you fear is true about you). You don’t have to hold this alone.” I believe that’s my job as a therapist – to sit with you in the midst of all that messiness and help you hold the painful and overwhelming parts. From there, we can work together to untangle it and move towards your goals.

I help adults work through anxiety, perfectionism, low self-confidence, and burnout.
You’re hardworking, capable, and often the one others turn to—but inside, you feel drained, stuck, or are constantly second-guessing yourself. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, or the pressure to keep it all together while your own needs go unmet. Maybe you’ve lost touch with who you are outside of your responsibilities, or struggle to feel “good enough.” You want clarity, ease, and a more honest connection with yourself. You're ready to move beyond people-pleasing and build a life that feels aligned, grounded, and sustainable.

Self Esteem Counsellors

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
