I have advanced training in the Gottman method of couples counselling.
70 years of life experience has been my best teacher (even though I have all the necessary professional training.) I have experienced loss when 2 spouses passed away from disease. I have won my own battles with cancer and addiction. I have raised 4 children, 2 step children (some with special needs) and now enjoy 12 grandchildren. I treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and anger by addressing the root of the problem - trauma. I am trained in EMDR, which is useful in healing PTSD (both childhood and adult trauma). Within minutes (not months) the pain of trauma can be permanently erased and people are less triggered in life.

Bob is a very experienced counsellor and has spent his working life helping people solve problems, make good decisions, set necessary boundaries, and improve communication. His counselling philosophy is very practical, assisting people in identifying solutions to their problems and motivating them to make the necessary changes. He works with individuals and couples by phone or video. He is a trained Gottman Method couples counsellor, and a former family lawyer and mediator. His mediation experience helps couples resolve conflicts rather than engage in unproductive arguments.

Are you tired of being stuck? Tired of beating yourself up? Board with the same old strategies that don't work? Are you ready for change? Many people experience times in their lives when they begin to feel overwhelmed and have difficulty coping. Feelings of shame, fear, loneliness, anger and hurt can have us feeling trapped and like we will never be okay. Counselling can often help people to transition to a place of balance, where they are much better able to cope, and not feel as overwhelmed. Not only will they be better able to cope, they can develop strategies that can make their lives more manageable and balanced in the future.

Or perhaps you want to check in with someone objective, for another perspective? Let's talk! Counselling doesn't have to increase your anxiety levels. Maybe for the first time in a long time, it's all about you!

If you're struggling in relationships or with anything related to your sexuality, you are in the right place. These topics can be difficult to experience, and scary to discuss, so having a counsellor or therapist who can discuss these topics openly is important. Whether you are attending counselling as an individual or together with another person/people, taking this first step is important. Perhaps the passionate energy is gone, or maybe you don't even recognize the person you sleep next to anymore. Seeking support, this moment right here, is the most important thing you can be doing. You don't have to do this alone.

Sometimes in life we are at a place where we are looking to understand more of ourselves and what is going on in our lives - from the relationships we find ourselves in, to the cycles that we might get stuck in. From anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life stress, big transitions; my job is to offer a space for you to feel safe and heard so the unpacking and understanding can begin. It is only when we can uncover and understand the root of the problem that profound coping and healing can really begin. If you are looking to understand yourself on a deeper level and take control of the things that are hurting you, I can help.

The quality of our lives is based partly upon the quality of the questions we ask ourselves daily. I hold a core belief in the power of people and relationships to heal and transform. I think that nothing should be labelled as good or bad, right or wrong, it is simply effective and ineffective. Therapy can allow us to find patterns that are no longer serving us, or beliefs that are keeping us from healthy connections with others. I aim to create a safe space, relaxed , empathetic and confidential environment. This positive context helps us explore new ways for your to connect to yourself , and to those you are in relationships with.

I've been in practice since 1995. I am trained to work with individuals, couples & families as a Registered Clinical Counsellor & Marriage & Family Therapist. It's clear to me that we can all struggle, even if we are successful in other areas of our lives. Life can be unpredictable & the stress & demands of everyday life, work & relationships can take its toll. As stressors build, you may find yourself struggling with anxiety, mood, eating, body image issues or turning to addictive behaviours. You may also find that unresolved grief or past trauma keeps seeping into your daily life & especially when you least want or expect it.

Gottman Method Counsellors
The Gottman Method For Making Relationships Work shows that to make a relationship last, couples must become better friends, learn to manage conflict, and create ways to support each other's hopes for the future. Drs. John and Julie Gottman have shown how couples can accomplish this by paying attention to what they call the Sound Relationship House, or the seven components of healthy relationships.
