I have been counselling for more than 30 years. I want to inspire you to create and live your best life. Are there ideas you hold or patterns you have that are holding you back? I strive to collaborate with you to find limitations or blocks and build a positive framework for finding your way through what may be a difficult time. Sometime we need to evaluate our thought patterns, our boundaries, our guilt, and our limited thinking to reveal what we truly need to find happiness. I want to help you find the strength to build your vision of harmonious relationships, a career with passion, and a life which feeds your soul.

You are thoughtful, sensitive, and self-aware. You tend to be the one others rely on. From the outside things look fine, yet inside you feel exhausted. You feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down. Despite insight, you can’t seem to find resolution. You know you have a choice: keep going and risk further disconnection from yourself or turn towards your inner world and lean into your own becoming. I want you (re)discover yourself. I want you to feel confident that you know who you are and what you stand for. I want you to stop sacrificing yourself so that you can feel alive! You are not broken; it's time for something new to emerge.

Are you experiencing a feeling of being stuck? Do you feel like your current strategies of coping aren’t having the same effect or aren’t getting you far enough? Is your relationship experiencing tension, breakdowns in communication, or repeated conflict? Many of the clients I work with experience an inability to be vulnerable and to live as their authentic selves, often feeling like they're spinning their wheels with no momentum. I aim to provide a supportive space for clients to explore and identify effective, individualized strategies and to implement them, creating meaningful changes to lives, relationships, and themselves.

EMDR trauma therapist. Are you struggling with anxiety, low mood, anger, relationship conflict, or unhealthy coping patterns that leave you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected? Perhaps you find yourself stuck in cycles of emotional reactivity, avoidance, substance use, overeating, self-criticism, or difficulty communicating with the people you care about most. These patterns often develop as ways of coping with stress, pain, or past experiences—but over time, they can begin to impact our relationships, sense of self, and overall well-being.

Being authentic means that you can live according to what you care about and do what you are good at. It involves knowing yourself, recognizing pressures to be a certain way (from inside and outside), and acting in a way that is consistent with your values.
When you can't be authentic it can lead to feeling anxious, depressed, angry, or avoidant. This can result from messaging and roles put on you growing up, from a traumatic experience, being in relationships where you feel pulled to be a certain way, not being validated, or not having had the opportunity to figure out who you are.

Life can brings unexpected changes or just seems joyless and full of stress. Relationships are strained. There may be Infidelity, failure, and disappointments. For those who value spirituality and faith there is a loss of hope. Alcohol and/or drug issues take control. If any of this resonates with you it may be a good time to consider counselling. I also have a deep passion to journey with people who struggle with chronic anxiety, are experiencing domestic violence, faith issues or are battling a porn addiction. I have experience working with first responders and those who have been exposed to traumatic events in their lives

I can bill directly to: WorkBC, FNHA, Veterans Affairs Canada, & Crime Victims Assistance, Telus Health, Blue Cross, etc..
70 years of life experience has been my best teacher (even though I have all the necessary professional training.) I have experienced loss when 2 spouses passed away from disease. I have won my own battles with cancer and addiction. I have raised 4 children, 2 step children (some with special needs) and now enjoy 12 grandchildren. I treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and anger by addressing the root of the problem - trauma. I am trained in EMDR, which is useful in healing PTSD (both childhood and adult trauma). Within minutes (not months) the pain of trauma may be permanently erased and people are less triggered in life.
