People with ADHD, Autism, and/or Learning Disabilities can struggle with balancing the demands of work, school, relationships, parenting, our own wellbeing, or even just everyday tasks.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, somatically-oriented and steers clear of 'one size fits all' thinking. I have obtained my MSW degree and I am a RSW with BCCSW. I utilize therapeutic techniques to support you in understanding your nervous system, explore your emotions, and connect to deeper parts of yourself.

I have completed extra coursework in Neurodiversity-Affirming Ethical Trauma Therapy and specifically ADHD, including late diagnosis for women and girls.
There is no art experience necessary to access our creativity and alternative ways of processing emotion. When people feel stuck, I find that is the space where we become open to experimenting and really investigating what their experiences are like and how we have learned to process them. Art therapy helps remove shame and perfectionism to create space for personal trust and clarity.

As a late diagnosed ADHD adult, I can personally speak to how many of us have had to wear masks that hide our true natures and limit us to the prescribed roles enforced by our families and culture.
I help clients recognize their blind spots that have kept them repeating old patterns of behaviors and relationships. Many of us have outdated views of ourselves created in early life that are limiting and distorted. Our symptoms, patterns and compulsions have been our best attempts to cope however have created blocks to truly feeling alive and connected.

I help adults with ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD make sense of the protective patterns they learned to survive—and reconnect with their feelings, needs, and sense of self.
You might feel stuck in shutdown, people-pleasing, or burnout—but it doesn’t have to stay that way. We’ll work together to rebuild trust in your feelings, voice, and needs. I help clients gently shift old survival patterns so you can rest, speak up, and show up fully as yourself—even when it feels hard.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
