Therapists for Teens and Adolescents in Halfmoon Bay, BC
On the outside, you may look like you’re holding it together—functioning, caring for others, getting through your days. But inside, you feel exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
I work with trauma survivors, therapists, healthcare professionals, and people recovering from burnout who often feel this way, especially when years of therapy, insight, or personal work haven’t fully shifted the deeper sense of being stuck.

Do you seem like you have it all together, but inside you're constantly overthinking, second-guessing yourself, or feeling like you can never quite do enough? Maybe you're an athlete striving for peak performance, someone who's always been the dependable one, or you're navigating a life that doesn't fit society's expectations. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to figure it out alone.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with self-criticism, recovering from a setback or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to identify what's getting in the way and build the confidence and flexibility to move forward.

My work has been shaped by supporting Indigenous and BIPOC youth and adults, and women facing barriers.
So... you've become really good at pushing things down, staying busy, or convincing yourself you're fine. (Spoiler: it usually catches up with us. If you're here, there's a good chance it already has.) Therapy here isn't about nodding for 50 minutes while you do all the talking. We'll get curious about what's keeping you stuck, gently challenge the stories that no longer serve you, and make sense of them together.
This is a space where you can slow down and be fully yourself, messy parts included. Swearing about life is 100% allowed, humour is encouraged, and there's no need to filter yourself here.

I am trained in FBT (Family Based Therapy) to specifically treat youth and families facing eating disorders.
Are you noticing excessive worries, low mood, challenging relationships, or stress with food and body image? Whether it's navigating a breakup, starting a new semester, struggling with low self-worth, or feeling anxious about the future, our experiences can sometimes feel insurmountable. Tending to our emotions is important to address as they can manifest physically as changes in eating, difficulty sleeping, increased isolation, or inability to complete work. Therapy provides a space to explore the challenges that arise in your world and build healthy coping skills to buffer any negativity that comes your way.

I specialize in working with adult, preteen/ adolescence and couples.
Reaching out for support can feel intimidating (and honestly, a bit overwhelming). A compassionate, supportive therapeutic relationship can make that first step feel less heavy.
I’m a counsellor with a deep curiosity about the human experience and a genuine respect for each person’s unique story — no two are the same, and I don’t believe they should be treated that way.
I take a collaborative approach, working alongside you rather than “fixing” you, to support a life that feels aligned with who you truly are. I support individuals in building lives that reflect balance, meaning, and purpose.

What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
