I work with clients who may be struggling with life crisis or trauma related to their relationships or family.
As a psychologist, my ideal client is someone who arrives not with all the answers, but with a genuine willingness to explore their inner world. They might initially present with anxiety, depression, trauma, or a sense of being stuck—common issues that often mask deeper emotional struggles or unmet developmental needs. These clients are often in transition and they’re seeking clarity, meaning, and a stronger sense of self. What makes this client “ideal” is not the severity or type of issue they bring, but their openness to self-inquiry and their readiness to engage in the therapeutic process.

Do you find yourself pushing even when everything inside you says stop? Maybe you’ve built a successful life on the outside—but inside, you feel wired, tired, or disconnected. You might be holding it all together while quietly battling anxiety, exhaustion, or the weight of experiences you’ve never fully talked about. I work with driven people who want to understand why they can’t switch off—and how to finally feel at ease without losing their drive. Many of my clients are high achievers who’ve lived through painful or overwhelming experiences, including sexual trauma, and learned to cope by staying busy, controlled, or always “on.”

couples and families with addiction, anxiety, depression and attachment disorders affecting their lives beyond their historical, current or perceived ability of self-control.
EMDR relieves a great deal of the 'therapy' pressure/stigma for the client, allowing complex trauma to shift rapidly and experientially. It is client-empowering, helping them 'let go' of that which was 'hidden' from their conscious awareness. I facilitate the means by which they can redefine their meaning structure in their world (transpersonal).

Working with all of your “little parts" to rebuild your relationship to self.
Do you ever feel like your mind is telling you one story while your body is signalling another? Maybe your reactions feel out of your control, you're unsure where certain feelings are coming from, or you're struggling to understand and communicate your needs. As a somatic therapist, the heart of my work honours the body-mind connection and focuses on bridging the gap between your thoughts, feelings, and body. My support is relational, collaborative, emotionally-attuned and rooted in the belief that all parts of you deserve care. Tuning into your needs day-to-day, session-to-session, and shaping this journey together.

My therapy approach is relational and collaborative. Feeling comfortable and connected is when therapy is most effective. My goal is to support you to understand yourself and what you need; to come back home to yourself. I tend to work with folks who aren’t feeling satisfied with their quality of life. This may show up as perfectionism, lack of motivation, hyper-independence, people pleasing tendencies, imposter syndrome etc. I have experience working in healthcare, not for profit, and private settings.

I hold additional certification in EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Family Trauma Professional, DBT, and Gottman Couples Counselling.
I believe that every client is unique and an expert in themselves. Sometimes, however, circumstances or events feel overwhelming and intrude on our ability to live the life we want. Having a person to support us on our journey to healing is necessary to feel capable of processing and transforming.

many things can trigger disruptive behaviours and emotions that throw us off-base, damage our health and relationships, or simply hold us back.
We all have an innate ability to return to equanimity, but sometimes it's just hard to get there on our own. Increased self-awareness often through reflections on historic, environmental or traumatic influences, can enhance our internal and interpersonal relationships, especially the most important one we have....with ourselves.

Hello! I'm so glad you made it here. It can feel really overwhelming to choose a therapist. Here's a bit about me and the work that I like to do. I enjoy working with youth and adults who are struggling with trauma, impacts of domestic violence, anxiety, body image/disordered eating, depression, life transitions, suicidal ideation, ADHD, family and peer conflict, and substance use disorders. I also work with family members and caregivers, helping provide tools in order for them to better support their loved ones. I strive to create a warm and safe space for people to process the big (and small) things in their lives!

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
