I see individuals who are struggling to cope with: Intense emotions and a high level of sensitivity (often known as "empaths"); anxiety and panic attacks; depression; recovery from trauma; bipolar affective disorder; phobias; grief/loss; and borderline personality disorder. One of my areas of specialization is working alongside family members of individuals with mental health and/or addiction challenges. Supporting a loved one on their recovery journey can be daunting. I address important and common hurdles, such as learning the difference between supporting and enabling.

I support adults navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, addiction, codependency, life transitions, relationship challenges, and feelings of being overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Many have spent years carrying burdens alone or caring for others while neglecting their own needs. Together, we create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where healing can unfold at a pace that feels right for you. Through trauma-informed care and evidence-based approaches, I help clients reconnect with their strengths, find relief from emotional pain, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion.

Compassionate, trauma-informed support to help you rediscover hope, reconnect with your strengths and move forward. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been carrying so much on your own. Whether you’re navigating a recent challenge or working through pain that has been with you for years, you deserve a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to offer that space — one where your story matters, your emotions are welcomed, and your healing unfolds at your pace.

Congratulations on taking the first step toward healing. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure, know you're not alone and support is within reach. I’ve been where you are, and my own healing journey inspired me to help others overcome complex trauma. Through a compassionate, non-judgmental space, we’ll work together toward a healthier, more empowered future. Healing is possible and it starts now.

You’re overwhelmed but high-functioning—juggling work, relationships, and inner pain you rarely name aloud. Maybe it’s trauma, anxiety, burnout, grief, or feeling lost. You crave peace, deeper meaning, and the ability to feel whole. You want someone who gets the complexity of your story, honors your cultural or spiritual lens, and sees beyond labels. You're ready to heal old wounds, feel empowered in your choices, and finally live in alignment with your full self—mind, body, and spirit.

I work with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, including survivors of sexualized and domestic violence, and first responders and front-line workers exposed to occupational stress and critical incidents. Many are navigating PTSD or C-PTSD, along with anxiety, depression, or substance use. Clients often present with dysregulation and the ongoing impact of trauma on relationships, safety, and daily functioning. I use a relational, client-centred approach and work collaboratively to identify and address these patterns. I hold a master’s in counselling psychology from UVic and am currently completing a PhD at UBC.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Counsellors
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioural therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
