Have you ever felt like you don't belong in conventional counselling spaces? Do you find traditional counselling awkward or too gentle? Sometimes life (and people!) get prickly. Add culture clash, work/school, and mental health challenges to the mix, and you have a possible cocktail for chaos. My practice is judgment-free. Whether you swear, cry, or feel unhinged, it’s okay! Bring your baggage and your labels, we have tons of room.

I have been a mental health counsellor/therapist for 30 years. In my experience, the two most important factors in therapy are trust and safety. I believe trust is earned by the therapist and safety is experienced by the client as therapy progresses. What I have learned from my clients is that even when they experienced hopelessness at first, change was possible, and when there was change, no matter how small, they felt hopeful. My aim is to support clients and help them identify and achieve their short and long term goals, at school, at work, in their family, and private lives.

I have over ten years of experience and I really care about my clients. I love doing this work and I believe we all have the capacity to heal if we can gently find the root of the issue. I specialize in relationships and trauma - relationships with others, your career, or inner struggles that keep you stuck. I use attachment theory, somatic therapy and working with the unconscious mind to explore intimacy, abandonment, and patterns in relationships. I also work with addiction, anxiety, stress and burnout.

Are you feeling burned out from carrying too much for too long? You might feel disconnected from yourself after trauma, challenging relationships, or ongoing stress, and feel like continuing the same way isn’t possible. I know how exhausting and heavy that can feel, I’ve been there too. Many people I work with want more than just talking about the past—they’re looking to feel present, grounded, and like themselves again. My approach balances trauma-informed emotional work with practical tools, supporting you to experience life with more presence, richness, and ease.

Children and families are often referred to me by other counsellors or health professionals because "the kid refuses to talk or cooperate" or "we tried everything and nothing works". Families often seek my specialties to explore their children's behaviours and challenges from the developmental lens. Neurodivergent children look forward to seeing me because they feel I am safe, and fun, and can easily connect with them in a special and meaningful way. I cannot work with autistic children receiving ABA treatment as it is contraindicative with my strong commitment to neurodiversity affirmative and disability ethical principles.

Hi there! I'm a Second-Generation Chinese-Canadian (born and raised in Vancouver), and Registered Clinical Counsellor with my M.A. in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I often work with individuals who are navigating complex emotional challenges where problems vary from being clearly defined (ie. feeling overwhelmed or "stuck"), or unsure of what is exactly "wrong." My approach involves developing a therapeutic relationship where we can work together supported by compassion, non-judgement, and intention. The goal is not to "fix" some part of you but to support you in developing or adapting strengths to help you progress forward.

Maybe you’re here simply because you need a place to catch your breath. I offer a creative sanctuary for that pause. As a Certified Level 2 IFS, Trauma, and Art Therapist, I provide more than talk therapy; I hold space to move through parts that feel overwhelmed, anxious, or in emotional and physical pain. Whether in my Burnaby studio or online, we integrate counselling with the tactile language of clay and art (no experience necessary) to reach depths where words alone cannot touch. Drawing on my extensive life and professional experience, I help you meet the “full catastrophe of living” with curiosity, resilience, and care.
