Sometimes life just feels bad. Terrible things happen, people hurt us or we make mistakes we regret. Trying to work things out alone is often our first choice, and yet there can be points where we realize that it might be good to get some help and another perspective. It's possible to live life with less stress and burnout, more choice and control over your reactions and emotions, better communication skills, and more clarity and understanding about what's going on and why. Therapy can help you feel like you're back in the driver's seat of your life, heading towards a life that has more joy, meaning and self-acceptance.

I work with teens, adults, and parents.
I support people in discovering, reclaiming, and cultivating their own personal strengths, insights, and resilience. We cannot always change the circumstances of our lives but I believe everyone possesses the capacity to turn towards their pain and challenges, with compassion and curiosity in support of cultivating a meaningful life.

If you're struggling or going through a tough time you may want some support. My team and I welcome the chance to work along side you. Finding the right fit with a therapist is really important for counselling to be helpful. It should be with someone who really understands what is happening for you, someone qualified to help, and someone who you feel comfortable talking to. Therapy involves effort. The good news is that you won’t be doing it alone. The alliance between us means that we'll be there to support you, ready to work with you while you create your path forward.

Coming alongside my clients as they navigate significant life changes, get to the root of challenging feelings and find a way forward (together) towards ease and wellbeing, is a privilege. We don’t have to bear the burden of our unhappiness, stress and confusion alone. It is wonderfully reorienting when our personal experience is deeply heard, held and respected, with skill and open-heartedness. Often helping us find fresh perspective and motivation. This is the gift we offer ourselves, when we take the time to engage in healthy therapeutic relationship. My work has been a joy to me and I would be delighted to hear from you.

I enjoy working with Women, Men, First Nations Children, Youth and Families and people with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
Life can be filled with uncertainty and upheaval. Living the life you want may feel challenging and unattainable. When conflicting emotions arise, our relationships falter. We may no longer know who we are or what we want. No matter how alone you may feel, there is a way through the suffering. As a registered psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, I believe the answers lie within us. With guidance and support, gradually you can learn how to find and listen to your inner voice to find solutions to these struggles and strengthen your relationship with self and others.

We are committed to supporting individuals, families, teens and couples to live more fulfilling lives!
Sessions are experiential; we will have the opportunity to explore, express, and test your thoughts, feelings and behaviors in order to 'rewire' old patterns. By consciously focusing on your resources and by having wins along the way you will build your capacity not only to take the suffering out of pain but to experience deep joy and gratitude.

Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined. Transitions, relationships, and the ups and downs of our inner world can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or questioning your direction. You may find yourself in familiar relationship patterns, feeling anxious beneath the surface, or noticing patterns like overthinking, people-pleasing, or struggling to set boundaries, even when you know something needs to change. Part of you understands what’s happening, but another part still feels stuck. Together, we’ll look at the patterns underneath what you’re experiencing, not just the symptoms, so change feels meaningful and lasting.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, moving through loss or change, or just disconnected from yourself, counselling can help. Many of the people I work with are capable and high-functioning, yet quietly struggle with anxiety, emptiness, or patterns in relationships that don’t make sense. Through a somatic and attachment-based approach, I help you understand how trauma, attachment wounds, or younger parts of yourself may be shaping your present. Together, we’ll create space for healing so you can feel more grounded, connected, and authentic in daily life.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
