Do you feel a bit wobbly, worried, stressed out, or stuck in repeating patterns that aren’t working for you anymore? Maybe you’re having a tough time navigating through anxiety, triggering moments, or complicated personal relationships. Perhaps you’d like to get better at communicating with the ones in your life that matter the most. You could also be wondering why painful memories from long ago keep popping up and you just want to find a way to make them stop. Facing all of this alone can feel overwhelming, but real healing and change can come quickly when you connect with someone you trust and feel fully safe with.

My clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who often feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck repeating patterns they can’t seem to shift. They’ve tried managing on their own but want deeper, lasting change—more calm, confidence, and ease in daily life. Many come to me when they’re truly ready to let go of old habits, fears, or self-doubt. Through clinical hypnotherapy, we work to calm the mind, regulate the nervous system, and reprogram subconscious patterns so you can move forward feeling lighter, clearer, and more at peace.

Do you dread going to bed because you struggle to sleep?
I consider all aspects of a person to balance mind, body, and emotions to create harmony and heal. Trauma and grief can be held deep within ourselves and affect our nervous systems and sleep. By targeting distressing thoughts, easing into accepting uncomfortable emotions, and learning to trust our bodies again, we’ll work on releasing grief and trauma.

Hi there! I'm a Second-Generation Chinese-Canadian (born and raised in Vancouver), and Registered Clinical Counsellor with my M.A. in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I often work with individuals who are navigating complex emotional challenges where problems vary from being clearly defined (ie. feeling overwhelmed or "stuck"), or unsure of what is exactly "wrong." My approach involves developing a therapeutic relationship where we can work together supported by compassion, non-judgement, and intention. The goal is not to "fix" someone but to support you in developing or adapting strengths to help you move forward.

Are you sick and tired of being tired after a bad night’s sleep?
It’s not a magic pill, but it’s shown in research to be as effective as sleep medications within a few weeks; it’s longer lasting, without all the risks and side effects. After struggling for years with chronic insomnia myself and finding nowhere to turn for real help, I completed specialized training in insomnia therapy. These strategies changed my life!

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
