About
If working through life's challenges feels more overwhelming than staying stuck in your current situation, I would like to have the opportunity to help you navigate your way to a life worth living. Often negative thinking patterns and behaviours can influence our sense of self and impact on our family, work and school life. My goal in art psychotherapy is to assist you in discovering your potential while finding your internal voice. A client centered, anti-oppressive approach provides a safe and confidential environment to explore what matters most to you.
As a registered art therapist and registered psychotherapist I encourage you to embrace art as a catalyst for your healing and therapy. Art psychotherapy does not require artist skills. It is an opportunity to build coping skills and self-esteem, while externalizing emotions and feelings that may be getting in the way of your success.
I have 18 years experience working with complex mental health concerns in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Using a trauma informed perspective, I have worked with mental health disorders including depression and anxiety. I am trained in dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing and solution focused therapy.
