My areas of expertise include the treatment of psychological trauma, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and couple and family relationships. I use an attachment and trauma-informed lens, working collaboratively with clients to understand the ways in which their past experiences have influenced how they relate to themselves, others, and the world. I work extensively with couples, First Responders, and individuals who have experienced childhood abuse/neglect and other forms of psychological trauma. I also provide Clinical Supervision to RSWs, RPs, and practicum students and hold a certification from WLU in Clinical Supervision.
I'm skilled in using a number of evidence-based approaches including Attachment Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. EFT, CPT and EMDR are my preferred approaches.
I believe in the importance of authenticity, empathy, and compassion in my work. I take a client-entered and collaborative approach, working with clients to gain insight into the factors and experiences that have contributed to their difficulties, move towards their goals, and achieve a sense of agency and fulfillment in their lives and relationships.
