As a racialized, non-binary Muslim immigrant from Pakistan, my specialty includes the intersection of queerness and racialization. I also excel with clients who occupy diasporic identities, identify as immigrants or children of immigrants, and want to discuss intergenerational connections and traumas. As a radical therapist, I intentionally include a macro perspective in the work I do; this can mean acknowledging oppressive systems including imperialism, capitalism, and colonialism and how they make it difficult to establish resilient and communal mental health.
I can help by validating many of the purposefully silenced experiences you undergo on an everyday basis that the mental health and wellness industrial complex says you should not bring into therapy. My goal is to continue to empower you, using non-normative and community based models of care so you can develop the ability to respond to new challenges.
Reach out to me if you have any questions or are just curious about my approach. I work using multiple models with the intention of always meeting you where you are at and nurturing your growth from there. My goal is to work with you and learn from you in a reciprocal relationship.
