About
I work with children, adolescents, and young adults who are coping with difficult behaviours, anxiety or mood concerns. Parents can often feel overwhelmed in helping their children, so I support families to help them manage life stressors and difficult emotions. My goal is to help children, youth, and parents have easier and more pleasant days. I use evidence-based strategies of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Within my work helping youth, young adults, and parents, I have a specialty of helping people coping with medical conditions or anxiety about medical procedures.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Ontario, and completed my graduate clinical training in Wisconsin and Minnesota before moving to Halifax in 2013. I use evidence-based treatment strategies that are individually tailored to each person or family. In addition to therapeutic intervention, I also offer psychoeducational and ADHD assessments.
Evening and weekend appointments are available. For new referrals, please complete the self-referral form on the office website at: www.birchsidepsych.com/contact or call/email
