I typically work with adults and adolescents who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and relationship problems. I often hear from clients that they need time and space to freely express and explore their thoughts and feelings with someone who holds an outsider's perspective and is also understanding, nonjudgmental, authentic, and offers expertise in the issues the client is bringing to the table. I can provide this space to help sort out your thoughts in order to find the empowerment and insight within.
When possible, I like to conduct sessions outside in local parks or nature trails. Wilderness/adventure based therapy is a great way to combine the benefits of nature with other evidence-based therapy modalities in order to encourage more in-depth processing of thoughts and emotions as well as engage in activity that promotes mindfulness and self-regulation.
Sometimes reaching out for help can feel intimidating. It can also often feel overwhelming to even understand where to begin. Not every therapist is the right fit for every person.
