Hello and welcome to somatic therapy! "Soma" is the Greek word for body. My practice focuses on helping your body relax so you have more energy to do the things you love. But first, we find safety within your body and take the time to understand what is going on for you (ex. anxiety, tension, chronic illness/pain, gut problems, headaches, chronic fight/flight/freeze habits, panic attacks, depression, confusion, feeling "lost", trauma history). Using a variety of techniques, I guide you back to your body, to pleasure, to calm, to relax. It is courageous to explore this therapeutic avenue; involve your body in your healing.
I'm a Registered Social Worker, an Expressive Movement Facilitator, and completed Advanced Level 2 of Somatic Experiencing (SE). I've completed SE's Masterclass Level 1, Eye of the Needle, which works with and supports near-death experiences or paralytic/anesthesia states. Body and movement techniques are essential to healing and the way I practice.
Somatic therapy is gaining popularity, and I am happy and honoured to offer this unique modality.
