My passion for counselling came from both personal and professional experience in asking for support and supporting others. I believe connection to others, along with a safe non-judgemental space to be heard can allow us to begin the journey in growth, healing and self exploration. I believe all our emotions, behaviours, and thoughts serve a purpose – even those we perceive as negative- and that by understanding that purpose, we can better understand ourselves and our relationships.
I believe that people are experts in their own lives, and approach counselling from a person centered, trauma informed lens. This means I place a strong emphasis on developing a relationship with clients that allows them to feel safe, heard and supported as they explore areas of their life, themselves and their relationships.
I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I provide counselling for adults and youth 16+, with a focus on substance use and addictions, relationship concerns, trauma and critical incident stress, depression and anxiety, and personal growth.
