By taking a holistic approach I acknowledge that individuals are multidimensional beings, encompassing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects. Through this holistic perceptive, I aim for therapy to promote overall well-being and balance in my clients’ lives, rather than just focusing on a specific symptom or issue. In collaboration with a holistic approach, I incorporate an individualistic approach that recognizes that each person is unique and has their own set of values, beliefs and experiences. With this approach I prioritize understanding and honoring my clients’ individuality.

~Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do~- Brené Brown. Life presents us with all types of road blocks, situations and experiences that may have our body and mind reacting in different ways or feelings. Children, adolescents and adults all experience feelings that provide internal and external responses. Coping with the way our mind and body feels through these situations does not have to be done alone. Your goals and feelings are important. You deserve a safe space to process and create intentional coping skills.

Accepting clients. Life can be overwhelming for families, and it can be hard to know what to do when your child has behaviours or is struggling. Emotions can feel out of control and family dynamics can be difficult. I have learned from working with children and families that sharing emotions and creating a space to process your experience, allows your family to feel connected and supported. It is important that through those difficult times that you know your family matters, and that you are not alone.

The smile you wear everyday on the outside is wearing you down on the inside. You've accomplished a lot, yet you still feel like you're coming up short. At the root of your anxiety is a familiar sense that you're not good enough unless you make something of yourself. It pushes you to excel at work, but it riddles you with doubt in your relationships and makes it hard to be honest about how you feel. You hold your feelings back from the people you love because you don't want to burden them. So you keep your struggles to yourself. This is the way it's always been, but you're reaching a breaking point.

The idea of sitting across from a stranger in an office and feeling pressure to be vulnerable is daunting. I get it, I attend counselling myself! Many of us have felt the nerves that come with the unknowns of receiving counselling for the first time, especially when you aren't quite feeling like yourself and are reaching out for support. My goal is to help you feel comfortable by conducting sessions online where you can enjoy the comfort of your own home, or in person with Walk and Talk sessions where we can experience the benefits of natural surroundings in one of London's beautiful parks while walking side by side.

Everything that we do is a habit that developed based on our experiences in the past. From the moment we are born, we learn how to be in this world and how to be a person. When we are struggling or suffering, and some things are hard and challenging in our lives, whether it is anxiety, depression, trauma or addiction, or things we wish we could change, it’s because we've learned a way of being that is now a habit that can be hard to change. But we are whole, exactly as we are! The changes we make are in how we relate to the experiences and events in our lives and, most importantly, to ourselves.

Have you been struggling with anxiety or depression? Feeling stuck? Maybe you had a traumatic experience and you know it still affects you but you don't know how. Often times, we can't simply talk our way out of trauma, depression or anxiety. It can impact the relationship between our body and mind and can even manifest as chronic pain, digestive issues, poor self-esteem and relationship difficulties. Art therapy can offer a container to explore difficult experiences and emotions, to hold things that may be difficult to put into words. It can provide effective coping strategies and help you build a healthy relationship with self.

Hello, and welcome. I'm happy you're here. We move through the world as a sum of our experiences. Some of these experiences have made us feel unsafe, unsettled, or even unappreciated. It’s difficult to live and move when you don’t feel right in your own skin. Do you have goals, plans, or needs that aren't addressed? Let's look at them together. I'm straightforward and compassionate in my approach. I'm convinced what matters is authenticity and being real together while holding space for tender work. American Psychologist Stephen Porges has said “feeling safe is the treatment and creating safety is the work”.

Isn't life overwhelming sometimes? You may find it hard to keep up with your daily activities or find yourself worrying all the time, unsure how to move forward or get unstuck. Connection with others may feel elusive, leaving you feeling alone and isolated. Activities you once found enjoyable leave you feeling empty. Or maybe you find yourself thinking about past events such as a childhood trauma, significant loss or other traumatic event. These challenges may act as a barrier to achieving a life that is resilient, happy and fulfilling.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.
Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.
Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
