I work with adults who wish to enter into a collaboration with me so that together we can work towards getting relief from whatever you are struggling with, whether that is a recent issue or something longstanding. As I often work with people with trauma-related issues, my clients have often suffered early attachment wounding, abuse, or have been exposed to multiple traumas through their work as first responders.
As a Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant, this is what guides my approach. I never move to reprocessing until you are ready and I use a number of approaches to prepare for reprocessing, such as "parts" imagery, mindfulness and acceptance, and CBT. I may use DBR for reprocessing when appropriate.
Whatever you are struggling with, I will strive to understand you and work with you to achieve resolution of your problem. As a psychologist with over 15 years specializing in trauma, I understand the impact of trauma on the body and brain and the need for each person to determine the pace of their own therapy process.

"
I will use a variety of approaches (i.e., CBT, ACT, "parts" imagery) after collaborating with you and learning about your main problem. When treating trauma I use Deep Brain Reorienting therapy (DBR) and/or EMDR therapy, depending on which is more suitable. DBR is a newer therapy that focuses less on explicit memories. DBR is theorized to process trauma-related shock stored in the brain.
