We all have a story unique to our lived experiences, and I strive to provide a space for each person to feel safe and empowered. Our stories deserve to be heard with compassion and respect and without judgment or assumptions. When we feel safe, we can open up and allow ourselves to be seen, which takes courage. Working in the field of substance use for the past twelve years has allowed me to witness the strength, resiliency, and ability to heal that is in each of us.
I take a client-centred approach that enables us to collaborate on your goals for your journey while using my skills in EMDR, Somatic Attachment, ACT, DBT and other therapeutic modalities.
One of the things that drew me to becoming a counsellor was being the Executive Director of a woman's transition house dealing primarily with substance abuse. Yet, there were underlying contributing factors like depression and anxiety, childhood trauma, adult trauma, and domestic violence. My goal is to help heal the areas that keep you stuck.
