The people I work with often tell me they experience intense, difficult emotions that are hard to control, often leading to harmful coping behaviours and relationship turmoil. Taking a behavioural approach, we work together to develop strategies and tools that support a more fulfilling life—what is referred to in DBT as a "life experienced as worth living.” Wellness tools and strategies we use are informed by DBT, ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy, but I believe it is the trusting and supportive relationship we build that forms the foundation upon which this challenging yet rewarding work is done.
I am trained as an Occupational Therapist, and I am honoured to have witnessed and shared in the life experiences and personal growth of my clients for over 15 years. I have a holistic, trauma-informed, solution-focused lens, and people tell me that I am open-minded, warm, and down to earth.
I am constantly inspired by the transformations I see in my clients as they learn and develop actionable skills that help them reduce their suffering, increase their self-confidence and—ultimately—create a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Please visit livewelldbt.com to learn about the DBT groups I facilitate as well as individual counselling.
