Life can be a lot, and we don’t get to skip over the rough parts. It might be an especially stressful time, or old issues and patterns might be holding us back. Sometimes it’s from moving through systems that cause harm. And sometimes we just get tired, and need someone in our corner. It can help to talk to someone who's not directly involved for support, insight, and a safe place to unpack it all. The longer I do this, the more I feel “mental health” isn’t quite the right term… it’s often physical, or spiritual, or cultural. The good news is we can start wherever you are. We can talk, move, go outside, or just feel what’s there.
I believe in taking an individualized approach. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I value joint decision making, transparency, and deep listening. The cookie cutter approach doesn’t work! I love working in private practice because we have the freedom to figure out the best path for *you*. You are in control of pacing and approach; I am here to support.
Counselling doesn’t have to be what it looks like on TV- I promise, I will talk to you like a regular person! It can be so helpful to spend time with someone who can offer perspective, strategies, or even just a safe place to feel, vent, laugh, or fall apart a bit.
