I am a Registered Psychotherapist supporting adults (21+) and have extensive experience supporting the disability and neurodiverse community through grief and trauma. Grief and or trauma counselling in my practice considers the impact that a loss has had on an individual. These losses can include identity changes, significant life shifts, the challenges of navigating chronic conditions or disease, or a significant death or dying of a loved one. My approach in counselling integrates theories and interventions that create a collaborative and adaptive therapeutic process tailored to an individuals’ strengths, resources and experience.
In 2008, I founded a national organization Recreational Respite, that uniquely supports individuals of the disability and neurodivergent community. The immersion of this work lends to my diverse approach in counselling while also acknowledging identity and integrates strengths-based therapies and various interventions based on one's experience and resources.
If my approach and experience in counselling sounds like it might be a good fit for you, please reach out to arrange a free 20 minute virtual consultation.
In the meantime, take good care :)
