About
Amy has a wealth of experience working with young children and families coping with various life stressors. She provides play-based assessment and treatment for children ages 4-12, engaging the family in the therapeutic process in order to promote long-term change within the home. Amy uses a cognitive behavioral lens in her practice. She uses play therapy modalities such as: art, games, sand tray, puppetry, as well as aspects of mindfulness.
Amy specializes in working with children who struggle with anxiety, social skills, anger management, impulse control, divorce, adoption, cancer, grief and bereavement.
Amy is a key member of the multi-disciplinary child treatment team at FLEX Psychology. By accessing both our treatment and diagnostic teams, we are able to more fluidly provide the supports your child needs (e.g. diagnostic support; school reports). Given the multidisciplinary nature of our work, early childhood services are billed as psychological services

Social Skills Group
This 8-week group is aimed at children ages 9-11 who struggle with daily social interactions. Facilitated by a registered psychotherapist - children will learn vital skills through structured play-based games, crafts, role-play, puppetry, and music. Children will have the opportunity to engage in healthy social, emotional and behavioural learning - providing them the confidence and skills to effectively handle challenges in the classroom, playground, and beyond. Weekly themes will target: Conversational Skills; Emotions and Empathy; Reducing Anxiety; Self-Esteem; Social Cues; Perspective Taking; Problem Solving with Peers
