Hi, my name is Amita (rhymes with Anita). Welcome to my page. I am a woman of colour from a Caribbean background, with years of experience working with youth, new immigrants to Canada, and in university and college settings with people from all walks of life. I understand that seeking therapy might feel a little uncomfortable at first so I want you to know that together we will work at your pace to create a therapeutic relationship that is comfortable and tailored to your needs.
I am a firm believer in the power of a space that is confidential, safe, non-judgmental (and maybe has a little humour sprinkled in at times) to sort through difficult thoughts and feelings. It is in this space where we can gently look at your personal experiences as well as the bigger picture context within which you exist and which matter to you.
