Beginning your search for a therapist is a big step -  welcome! A little about me: I am a client focused therapist and strive to provide a safe and non judgmental place to work through your experiences. My hope is you will feel empowered, understood and heard during our work together. Although it can feel overwhelming, talking through challenges can help reduce unwanted feelings. I beleive that building a theraputic relationship is foundational to the process. I primarily use non cogntiive tools such as EMDR and DBR coupled with self-regulation tools and techniques housed in cogntive strategies.
I practice through an attachment and trauma informed lens. Working to understand your emotions and feelings, where they come from, and exploring the mind body connection are a focus in therapy. I work with psycho-somatic interventions, mindfulness, and self-compassion. EMDR and DBR are tools used to process events and compliments my theoretical alignment.
I feel truly honoured to share in your experience. I strive to clearly hear and understand you in our time together. Someone described therapy to me as "weird but good”. Reaching out is the hardest part, therapy gets more comfortable with time. It takes a considerable amount of strength to take this first step - I look forward to working with you.
