I subscribe to the idea that suffering is a natural part of the human experience; we suffer and experience discomfort so that we can adapt, build resilience, and grow. But it is possible to exceed our threshold of suffering when our coping strategies are no longer sufficient. This is when discomfort begins to feel like pain, anxiety, or depression, and is no longer helpful for growth. I like to think of my role as the collaborator and support system for times like these — helping you move through pain, reconnect with your strengths, and find space for clarity and integration.
I am a registered psychotherapist and social worker, and the founder and clinical director of Clinic Altera in Montreal. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with advanced training in IFS, EFT, Brainspotting, and Intensive Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy (ISTDP). My career has included work at McGill, Harvard, and MIT.
I am highly specialized in trauma, burnout, high performers, and treatment-resistant depression and anxiety. My style is empowering, emotionally focused, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I have supported survivors of sexual violence, victims of crime, and individuals living with complex PTSD. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, kink-aware.
