Welcome. I work mainly with women, children (3 yrs+), the LGBTQ2SIA+ community, couples/relationships, and families. I have specialized training in EMDR and Play Therapy. Maybe you’re looking for fresh perspective, someone to help you work through thoughts and feelings. Maybe you’re experiencing grief, confusion, isolation, or feeling “stuck”. As your therapist I will explore with you, listen, witness, support and facilitate your journey for a time. I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor and RCT-C with Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I earned my M Ed Counselling at Acadia University, and have a Wellness Dipl, MA, BFA.
With adults and young adults, I integrate EMDR, ISTDP, Attachment, IFS, and Gestalt techniques with creative methods and approaches (sandtray, art). In my work with children, I draw on empirically supported Play Therapy techniques to help children express feelings, heal trauma, develop emotional regulation and problem-solving skills, and enhance self-esteem.
Early experiences shape the way we are in the present, impacting our sense of self, our relationships, and our beliefs about the world. Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to examine the ways the past influences the present, enabling us to change habitual patterns and behaviours, live a more satisfying life, and believe that we are going to be ok.
