I see couples in therapy who tell me they are quarrelling too much or who have drifted apart. Often, they need help with slowing down, expressing their softer feelings and understanding their partner's emotions. I also see couples whose lives have been turned upside down by an extramarital affair and worry that there will never be trust again. I help them learn that an affair doesn't have to mean the end of a relationship. I also provide individuals coping with anxiety, depression and trauma from childhood, interfering with their present lives. Young adults and their parents see me for family therapy to improve their relationships.
As a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT), I help couples, families, and individuals reduce distance and animosity, enhance the emotional connection, improve communication, self-awareness, depth of understanding and intimacy. Individuals find emotional balance, and families with young adults and parents resolve differences and find acceptance.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially when you feel stuck. As a therapist with over 4o years of experience, someone who has been married, separated, and built a long-lasting relationship again, and who has faced a serious life-threatening illness, I know loss, resilience, compassion and the value of love in life.
