I have worked as a Nurse Therapist in Community Mental Health for over 25 years. I am experienced supporting individuals that struggle with depression, anxiety and related disorders, loss and grief, relationship difficulties, body image problems, disordered eating, post-partum transition, substance use, life transition stress, chronic and life threatening illness, and the often challenging experience of simply being human.
My practice is informed by a unique blend of both my Nursing and Counselling backgrounds. It is also informed by my own lived experience as a wife and mother to 5 children. I have both fostering and adoption experience. I work from a strength-based perspective and many of my beliefs about people and the human condition arise out of my Christian worldview.
It takes courage to seek out support. Finding the right fit in a therapist is essential. For this reason, I offer a complimentary half hour in person consultation. Due to my work experience in community Mental Health, I am very familiar with resources in the Comox Valley and am able to assist in referral to other programs and places of support.
