Hi there, my name is Alishia. I am a strength based multicultural Registered Clinical Counsellor with extensive experience in treating mental health. I work with Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Autism, grief, women issues such as infertility, traumatic births, NICU experiences or other postpartum difficulties. I work with all ages including children, youth, adults and seniors. I have years of experience working at Child and Youth Mental Health and with adult mental health and trauma. I am registered to work with ICBC and CVAP clients and am able to do direct billing.
The relationship between counsellor and client is one of the biggest predictors of change. Therefore my practice is deeply relational. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), somatic techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Expressive Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness techniques.
I strive to create a safe, nonjudgemental space so that we can safely explore healing. Counselling sessions with me are challenging, insightful, motivating and fun!
