It's not easy taking that first step. You've probably been thinking about it for awhile. Opening up to a stranger, sharing personal thoughts and feelings, fear of being judged; these are some of the reasons people put off going for help. I get it! I'm here to give you a soft place to land, a place where you can speak and be heard, and to process your unique life experiences. Together, we can work on coping skills, grounding techniques or just talk, whatever you need to work through any challenging emotions in order to move towards healing.
My therapeutic approach is a variety of modalities such as Emotionally Focused, Person Centered and Acceptance Commitment therapies. I use my intuition gained from my personal experiences and healing journey. My clients often deal with anxiety, non-parent expected (ie DNA results/adoption), loss and grief (people, pets, etc) as well as other life challenges.
The most important thing in therapy is that you feel safe and heard. From here you can express yourself and work through issues. In order to do this, you need to be comfortable with your counsellor. Contact me for a free 20 min consultation to make sure we are a good fit for each other. The hardest part is the first connection, but you've got this!
