"I know from personal experience that mental health struggles can have a devastating impact on our ability to live full lives. It's that experience that led me to become a Clinical Social Worker, and to train as both an individual and family therapist. In our work together, we will develop the skills and strategies that you need to find relief from your symptoms. We will also help you to explore the root causes of those symptoms, so that you can achieve long-term change. I have worked in community mental health for 10+ years, so I can also help you navigate the broader mental health system."

"I am an experienced therapist with 30 years of practise to draw upon. I will listen carefully as you describe the issues that you need support and help to sort out. Often, an increased understanding of the challenges that you face can be very helpful to move forward in your life. As well, learning some new skills to manage the issues and/or gaining a new perspective on the issues can be useful as well. I appreciate that it is not easy to embark on a therapy course so I make every effort to be supportive and understanding as we build a therapy relationship."

"I work with adults and couples to help them move towards a state of continued growth, compassion, and self-awareness in a way that is collaborative, strengths-based, and empowering. I believe in creating a client-therapist relationship that fosters authenticity, support, and space for both acceptance, and for change. This can begin in our very first session. Together, we can begin to tease apart the adaptive approaches to dealing with and moving through life you've grown accustomed to, and begin to decipher which of these patterns are serving you, and which you may be interested in moving beyond."

"Feel like #%!*? Let's talk about it. I offer a warm, creative, down-to-earth approach that is client-focused and collaborative. I work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive framework. I believe in bringing light and air to the parts of ourselves that need time and space to emerge. In our increasingly fragmented world filled with smart phones and twitter feeds, we could all use some good old-fashioned connection. I bring a deep curiousity about the ways we move through the world, the stories we tell ourselves and how our relationships are affected."

"As we journey through life, unfair things happen. The associated thoughts, feelings and people can stay with us as painful memories, create a sense of burden and influence our future expectations. While we can't change the past, it is under our control to change the way we look at what happened. As challenging events and relationships unfold, we can control how we respond. We do this by becoming more aware of automatic negative reactions and replacing them with healthier thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It is possible for you to obtain a new lease on life and to embrace a future filled with things that have seemed out of reach."

Alcohol Use Counsellors
Alcoholism, or alcohol dependence, is the most severe form of alcohol use. It is a chronic disease characterized by the consumption of alcohol at a level that interferes with physical and mental health and with family and social responsibilities. An alcoholic will continue to drink despite serious health, family, or legal problems.

If you're looking for help with alcohol abuse in M6C or for a M6C alcohol abuse counsellor, these professionals provide confidential support for alcohol abuse or for individuals and couples in a relationship where alcohol is a disruptive factor. They include M6C alcohol abuse therapists, alcohol abuse psychologists and M6C alcohol abuse counsellors. They can help with alcoholics in M6C, drug alcohol abuse, teenage alcohol abuse, substance and alcohol abuse and treatments for alcohol abuse in M6C. counsellors can identify the signs and causes of alcohol abuse, discuss intervention and refer victims to alcohol abuse treatment centres. A counsellor may also discuss 12 step programs in M6C or joining AA ( M6C Alcoholics Anonymous).

Alcohol abuse causes problems for the family and loved ones of alcoholics--they may also need help and support, which these M6C counsellors can provide.

How can I tell if a therapist is right for me?
Therapists in M6C are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, if you're seeking a marriage counsellor in M6C you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in M6C and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in M6C or family therapy in M6C.
