At Agapé Lens Consulting and Therapy, I provide individual psychotherapy, prioritizing Black adults and youth starting at age 12. I have been addressing the needs of mental health and racialized communities for over 15 years. We can focus on a variety of concerns such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, anger, and racism.

Welcome. I am a psychologist based in London, Ontario and registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to provide services for adults, adolescents, children, and families. I completed my PhD at Dalhousie University (Halifax, NS) and my Predoctoral Internship through River Valley Health (Fredericton, NB). I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario where I was also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in previous years. I assist people experiencing various challenges, including: anxiety and stress; depression; relationship problems; parenting concerns; trauma and abuse; addictions; and grief/loss.

I have been working as a Psychologist for many years. It is my goal to create a warm and helpful therapeutic relationship with my clients so that I may assist them with whatever issues they are dealing with. I am comfortable with a number of therapeutic approaches and I try to individualize the treatment plan to the unique needs and preferences of my clients. I have a collaborative approach in my work with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have assisted clients with a broad range of problems including anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders including borderline personality and addictive behaviors

In my clinical work, I conduct focused, short-term psychotherapy that are customized for each individual client's needs. Client-therapist collaboration is emphasized and a supportive therapeutic environment is provided. I favour the use of approaches which help clients to understand, control and integrate their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours. In my forensic work, I adopt a combined approach in which both clinical and actuarial methods are used for achieving accurate and thorough evaluation. Every attempt is made to integrate scientific findings with professional judgement in addressing psycho-legal issues.

My philosophy of treatment is the use of evidence-based and trauma-informed practices in a strength-based approach. Helping clients become empowered in their own healing, I am trained in TF-CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Structured Intervention Trauma-Child and Adolescent (SIT-CAP). I specialize in trauma treatment, grief and loss, stress, anxiety and mood disorders. Together, we create the vision for what healing will look, feel and become in your life.

I have extensive experience conducting assessments and providing personalized therapy for individuals, couples, families and groups dealing with complex difficulties.

In my 40 year career as a clinical social worker, I have gained extensive experience in developing, effecting, and managing therapeutic approaches for individuals and families who bear the damage of sexual abuse. I am prepared to offer help for many problem areas but I give special emphasis to male and female adults and youth who have committed, or are at risk of committing, or have been the victim of problematic sexual behaviour, This includes clients with special needs such as intellectual disability. I also support families with safety planning for child protection cases or with family resolution/reintegration.

Ayah completed her Master's in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy in 2019 at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), at the University of Toronto (UofT). She is currently a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Ayah completed her master's practicum at Maplehurst Correctional Complex and Vanier Centre for Women, a provincial prison.

Over the past 24 years I have specialized in working with individuals (adults and youth, male and female) who have done something of a sexual nature that has gotten them into trouble, or have engaged in violent behaviour towards their intimate partner. I also support families with safety planning. I am a qualified expert in Criminal, Family, and Superior court to conduct risk assessments for individuals who have committed a sexual based offence, as well provide the courts with recommendations for treatment options for those individuals. I am also specialized in working with clients suffering with anger management issues.
