My aim is to guide my clients towards understanding and acceptance of (being with) their emotional experience so that they feel complete, free and more connected to others. Engaging in therapy with me involves warmth and empathy, which allows my clients to freely express, and understand, their experience. I validate the experience of my clients so that they genuinely begin feel well with who they are. I use empirically supported treatments that treat difficult emotions such as sadness, anger, and fear (Emotion Focused Therapy) or problematic thinking patterns related to anxiety/depression (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
With couples, I also use Emotion Focused Therapy. This approach helps couples to see each other as I help each partner (and the couple) take down barriers in order to learn about one another and better connect. Conflict is better managed and bonds can be reunited and/or solidified.
I see clients in the West Island just near Fairview Mall at the Healing Tree Wellness Centre founded by Julia Di Nardo and Elena Grinevitch. I also see clients downtown at the Montreal Family Therapy Centre, headed by Marla Yanofsky. This centre is beside Concordia University off of Guy St.
