I am a registered masters-level social worker with over fifteen years of experience working with military and civilian adults, children and families. I specialize in relationship counselling and sex therapy as well as individual trauma therapy, both in-person and from a PHIPPA-approved online platform in Pembroke, Ontario. I also have specialized training in working with polyamorous or otherwise open relationships. I am eager to work with those who identify as LGBTQ2IA+ and those who identify as non-binary/fluid/exploring in their gender identities. All faiths/traditions/orientations/lifestyles are WELCOME!
I use Emotionally Focussed Therapy as my sole modality for my work helping clients with their relationships. I use EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with trauma survivors. My training in Sex therapy has been through Guelph University’s Intensive Sex Therapy program and with Martha Kauppi from the Institute for Relational Intimacy.
I am a strong believer in collaboration between client and therapist, coming up with ways together to incorporate personal skills and interests in the development of a plan for personal growth and change. Anchored solidly in attachment theory, I use a trauma-informed anti-oppressive approach combining EFT, CBT, and mindful self-compassion.
