"Life can sometimes become overwhelming and people can benefit from a safe, open space to share their stories and receive support. Counselling and psychotherapy are services delivered through a therapeutic relationship with someone who is trained to support others. Some benefits to engaging in counselling and psychotherapy are: finding ways to solve problems, improving your self-esteem, practicing new and more positive behaviours, learning to manage emotions from stressors, developing a greater degree of self-awareness, learning to love and accept yourself, and improving your overall well-being. "You can have a life that matters. What I offer is radically different: a place to do something new with the stuff you've long struggled with - and to learn how to live the life you are longing for. I do this using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Our work together will always be about who and what matters most to you, and always focused on building you the life that you want."

"I have had the privilege of experiencing being a client long before I became a therapist. This experience has provided me with the keen understanding of how much strength and courage it takes to reach out and ask for help. Therapy can seem awkward and uncomfortable, but it doesn’t have to be! That’s where I come in! My priority is to create a safe environment where you can express your struggles and fears without worrying about judgement. "

"If you want to learn, to grow, and to heal you can go to therapy. Therapy is unique in that it treats problems (medical model) as well as improves an already decent life (wellness model). Therapy is effective for helping painful experiences become tolerable. It is a proven method for changing harmful thinking, relational patterns, and behavioral patterns. By helping achieve your potential and a healthy well-being, it can also be used to make good lives great. It can even expand and explore spiritual aspirations."

"Welcoming New Clients. Are you feeling overwhelmed and looking for a counselor who has compassion without judgement? I counsel from a strengths-based framework, working with clients to embrace coping strategies to achieve their goals in health and happiness. My approach to psychotherapy is rooted in narrative therapy, family systems and vicarious trauma/compassion fatigue. I believe that people who access counselling are at a place in their lives where they have identified wanting to be in control of their future selves. I'm looking forward to hearing from you so that we can start down that road together."

"Every person has different mental health needs. Therapeutic and counselling sessions should address your needs and your goals. Helping you find balance towards fulfilling your wellness goals is fundamental to my client-centred therapeutic approach. Over the years, I recognized that addressing multicultural issues requires a unique and versatile framework. I therefore wrote a book about multicultural populations in which I introduced Diversity and Identity Formation Therapy (DIFT). DIFT combines eastern and western approaches that are significant in developing a culturally responsive therapeutic plan."

"My personal take on counselling is that if you're wanting to change something, you must first understand what you're changing. In therapy we work to understand where issues or concerns originate and what influences them. This helps inform the approaches and strategies we use in therapy. I offer services to those who deal with anxiety, depression, grief, anger, and trauma."

"I provide warm, heart-connected and empathetic counselling, coaching, mediation and hypnotherapy services to individuals, couples and families. I concentrate on "wholistic" healing and empowerment rather than on being clinical and "helping". Basically, I form what I call a "Healing Partnership" with the people who come for my services. I tend to be quite eclectic and bring a wide range of skills, techniques, modalities and wisdom to each counselling interaction. Please contact me to enhance your life and to make the most of each moment. My favourite slogan is: "Listening well is the most eloquent sign of caring.""

"We all confront difficult challenges in life. We all go through times when our deepest fears and insecurities surface and wield control over our thoughts and actions, while our strengths and values fade out of focus and out of reach. We may be flooded with unwanted and worrisome thoughts; experience intense negative emotions; feel lonely and isolated from others, become increasingly unmotivated and unproductive; and develop difficulties sleeping, concentrating, and finding fulfillment in life. If you are going through a period of suffering, this is part of what makes you human. "

Adolescents / Teenagers (14 to 19) Counsellors
Adolescence describes the teenage years between 13 and 19 and can be considered the transitional stage from childhood to adulthood. However the physical and psychological changes that occur in adolescence can start earlier, and it can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can bring up issues of independence and self-identity. Sometimes teens may be experimenting with drugs and alcohol or sexuality. During this time, peer groups and external appearance tend to increase in importance.

For help with adolescents or for a K2H adolescent counsellor these professionals provide help for adolescent development and adolescent education. They include adolescent counsellors in K2H, adolescent psychologists, and adolescent therapists. They can help with adolescent behavior, adolescent learning and adolescent discipline.

K2H teen counsellors also provide help for troubled teens in K2H or troubled teen boys and girls. For parents of out-of-control teens, K2H counsellors can help with communicating and understanding your teen. And counsellors in K2H can help with teenager behavior and teen learning issues.

How can I tell if a therapist is right for me?
Therapists in K2H are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, if you're seeking a marriage counsellor in K2H you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in K2H and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in K2H or family therapy in K2H.
