I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychoanalyst and a Registered Nurse with expertise in psychiatric/mental health and addictions. I instruct a course at Tyndale Seminary (Therapeutic and Systemic Approaches to Addictions), and one at Wycliffe College (Pastoral Care for Persons Impacted by Mental Illness). I also teach Mental Health First Aid (both, Basic, and for Adults who interact with Youth). I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families and psychoanalysis for individuals.
The goal of psychotherapy is to relieve undesirable symptoms and foster positive capacities and resources within the person. These resources include greater capacity to tolerate strong emotions in self and others, increased flexibility and adaptability, greater capacity to enjoy close and stable relationships, and increased capacity for playfulness and joy.
