I work with clients who struggle with "regulation difficulties". When your "motor" is running automatically, too fast or too slow, it is very difficult to respond efficiently and thoughtfully. My clients struggle to be present, are unable to respond appropriately in times of stress, and cannot maintain a direction in life. Some of my clients have difficulties such as Complex Trauma, attachment issues, depression, anxiety and ADHD. This can happen to men, women, children and teens. Learning to be regulated can improve one's ability to focus and to learn, to be able to manage one's life and have deep meaningful relationships.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Art Therapist and Certified in Neurofeedback. Talking, becoming mindful, drawing/making and Neurofeedback training are all helpful tools that connect thinking and feeling with the body. We try to make sense of how your present life is related to your life story. We quiet the shame and fear.
I love my work - and I have done it for over twenty years. I am motivated, compassionate and a keen listener. I have found that this mixture of exploring, reflecting, expressing, learning and regulating works together very well. Please do take this first step of finding a therapist so that you can live a fuller, happier life.
