I firmly believe in the healing power of relationship and I strive to nurture my clients’ connection to loved ones and significant others. I believe that positive change starts with healthy individuals who then form healthy relationships and establish positive child-parent connections. These relationships give rise to healthy families and thriving communities. To me, empathy and compassion are at the heart of healthy connection and by creating a space for these qualities to flourish, we take the first steps toward healing.

Throughout my 14 years working in the mental health field, I have learned that the process of therapy is as unique as the people who choose to take this brave journey into themselves. Challenges and difficulties are a reality of life, and therapy is geared toward supporting you as you address uncomfortable feelings or other Psychological needs as you move toward relief. As a non-judgemental member of your team, we will look at using the skills and strengths you already have to become more present and aware in your life. Because wellness is different for everyone, please know that no struggles are too small for therapy.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure of themselves, or caught in patterns that leave them exhausted and disconnected from who they want to be. They may be navigating stress, anxiety, ADHD, relationship challenges, or the lingering effects of trauma. My ideal client is curious about understanding themselves more deeply and open to exploring change, even if they’re not sure where to start. Together, we create a safe, collaborative space where growth, insight, and self-trust can take root and lead to meaningful transformation.

As it turns out, many people begin counselling with, ‘I’m not sure where to begin.’ That’s more common - and more human - than you might think. So many of us long to feel clearer, calmer, steadier, but instead we feel trapped in stress or pain. I care about creating a space where you can bring complicated things, and offer support for the many layers of living - from life transitions & relationships to balance & boundaries. I also work with those seeking change or struggling with stress & burnout, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, ADHD, emotion regulation, distress, and trauma.

I help people who are struggling with anxiety, stress management, and burnout move through life with less tension. Change isn’t about lowering your standards or “trying harder” - it's about trying differently. By exploring the underlying systems that create these experiences therapy can help you understand how they are maintained, and how to create meaningful change without losing what matters most. I know that not all stressors can be changed, but I also believe we have the power to respond to them in ways that allow us to live a life that is aligned with what is important to us. Together we can explore what this means for you.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
