With children and teens, I use an interactive, hands on style that builds emotion regulation, supports parents, strengthens family relationships, and encourages confidence, growth, and self understanding for lasting change together.
Many of my clients are parents, professionals, or young people juggling family, work, and personal expectations. Life can be messy, confusing, loving, and hopeful all at once, and sometimes it’s hard to find balance. You may feel stuck in old patterns, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start. Whether you’re navigating parenting, relationships, or stress at work, I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can slow down, feel heard, and explore new ways of coping, growing, and reconnecting with yourself.

I work with young adults/ adults, children and teens navigating chronic pain, anxiety, and depression, especially when stress, self-doubt, or big life changes start to take over.
I believe therapy should feel empowering, not overwhelming. Even when things feel messy, confusing, or stuck, I hold the belief that this is "figure-out-able" and you don’t have to do it alone. Together, we focus on building clarity, confidence, and practical skills that actually fit your life.

I work with children from the ages of 4 & up and work with adults, with training & experience supporting trauma, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and body image.
As a counselor I am honored to be a part of your journey, no matter how big or small. Working with me means that I see you as the expert of your lived experiences. At the end of the day we are all unique in our wants, needs, and desires, and what works for some does not mean it will work for everyone. My aim is to work with you and meet you where you are at so we can figure out what is working, what needs to change, and how we can get there together. After all, this is YOUR journey. Counselling with me is a collaborative process where your voice, opinions, and experiences matter, are important, and are valid.

I work with adults, adolescents and children to make peace with their story, address current stressors, and foster their strengths and vision for the future.
I moved to Alberta from the UK in 2016 and retrained as a psychologist after many years of home educating my children and working as a musician, both performing and teaching. I practice with a trauma informed approach and combine interventions from theoretical approaches including ACT, CBT, DBT and IFS. I offer Christian faith based counselling on request.

As a Registered Play Therapist (SPT), I support children ages 3+ through creative, play-based approaches that help them express emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen resilience.
Life can pull us in many directions—you may feel pressure to meet others’ expectations, manage stress, or balance responsibilities, yet still feel disconnected from what truly matters. You might be wondering: What truly matters to me, and how can I live more in alignment with that? I offer a compassionate, person-centered space to explore these challenges at your own pace. Drawing on CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, narrative, ACT and play therapy, and more, I help you clarify your values so you can make authentic choices, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and self-connection.

They may be navigating stress, anxiety, ADHD, relationship challenges, or the lingering effects of trauma. My ideal client is curious about understanding themselves more deeply and open to exploring change, even if they’re not sure where to start. Together, we create a safe, collaborative space where growth, insight, and self-trust can take root and lead to meaningful transformation.

FAQ - About Child Therapy
When does a child need to see a therapist?
Children naturally experience emotional ups and downs. Sometimes, though, they need support from a professional. A child may benefit from therapy if their emotions or behaviours change significantly within a short period of time. For example, if a child usually spends time with friends after school but begins isolating in their room, further inquiry is warranted. Other areas for concern include altered sleep patterns, lack of appetite, intense anger, irritability, or hopelessness, or developmental regression in young children (bedwetting, thumb-sucking).

What can a child therapist help with?
A therapist can help with any difficult experience a child may encounter growing up, including learning problems or anxiety related to school, relationship challenges with friends or parents, bullying, intense emotions or phobias, divorce and family dynamics, or the death of a pet or loved one. A therapist can help children process their experience and develop coping skills in an age-appropriate way

What therapy types are most suitable for children?
Children can benefit from different forms of therapy, including family therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and exposure therapy, depending on their condition. Play therapy is a great option for younger children who may not be able to fully articulate their feelings. In this approach, kids play with toys and games while a therapist observes and helps the child express their emotions and develop coping skills.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
