Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, as if there aren't enough words to describe everything you’re feeling. Perhaps you’ve noticed that your capacity for day-to-day life just isn’t what it once was. Or maybe you’ve been reflecting on your life experiences and want a place to safely examine the collection of joyful and difficult things you’ve been through. I work with individuals who are seeking to connect more deeply to themselves and others. This often includes helping people to navigate shame, anxiety, negative views of self, relationship challenges, and the impacts of sexual violence and other traumas.

On the outside, you are a woman who has had many accomplishments & is just going through a rough patch. On the inside, you've been significantly struggling with feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, stuck &, discouraged as self-help and distraction from the emotional pain have not been helpful. The trauma you suffered is also showing up in the present. You're tired of feeling this way, and are afraid of getting worse & losing everything you worked for. You deserve a empathetic Psychologist who truly gets it, & can effectively help you, on a deep level, so you may attain the lasting healing, happiness and peace you deserve.

I primarily work with late-diagnosed autistic individuals and disabled folks who are exploring their neurodivergence or disability, and the impact i across identity, relationships, work, and well-being. Together, we unpack the ways in which neurobiological differences shape experiences, social interactions, and patterns of emotional regulation in a world built with neurotypical norms in mind.

Once there was a little girl growing up in a family that didn't want her. She didn't feel loved or accepted so she changed herself to try to please them. The message she got was that she didn't matter, and she believed it. Now she's an adult trying to earn love but feels alone, like there's no place she can belong. She matters to God. You were little once; do you know what happened to you? You want to know why life feels so hard; you struggle with anxiety, can't say 'no', have significant stress, and don't feel deeply connected to others even if you are married. You want to feel good in your body and mind; you want to feel free.

Many people have already talked their stories through. The goal here isn’t to endlessly process - it’s to heal. We go beneath coping and analysis, carefully deconstruct what’s holding you in place and rebuild from the foundation up. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) supporting adults, couples, and adolescents through trauma, neurodivergence, self-esteem issues, trauma, life transitions, abuse, and attachment-based challenges. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices. Many of my clients have experienced therapy before but are ready for a deeper layer of healing. I provide a comforting space to heal while growing.

I approach counselling with empathy, a sense of humour and a desire to empower clients so that they are able to build life-long skills and knowledge that will enable them to be masters of their own mental health. Because of my years of experience with coaching and teaching, my sessions include a great deal of psychoeducation with hopes to empower clients to be their own advocates and to build the resiliency they require to be successful in life.

Are you a "big feeler"? Have you always been considered emotional or sensitive? Big feelers are often filled with worries about the future and overwhelmed by the present. You might spend a lot of time dealing with racing thoughts and fears. It's difficult to feel like you're living a secret life where no one knows how much you struggle. You might even feel like no one really knows you. You might wish you could just turn your brain off for a while and not feel so deeply impacted by everything.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
