Perceptions...This is what we live out. The way we see the world and what we expect based on what we have experiences so far. Sometimes life does not ask you what you want, and it can get frustrating, and painful trying to live with, date or communicate with someone in your life that you can not understand. What has your history been? What did it teach you ? What do you want from your life? What would it take to get that? Sometimes an outside perspective can help you to see more clearly. Reaching out to someone with an objective view can help. I am trauma informed and specialize in Cluster B Personality Disorders.

My goal as a therapist is to help you to gain a greater understanding of yourself. This includes an awareness about the underlying reasons for why you think, feel, and act in the way you do. From a place of clarity, we often feel better able to make healthy and conscious choices, as opposed to operating out of habit or programming. I work with clients to address unresolved traumas, which can be large or small. These traumas can, even years later, continue to impact us in ways we are not fully aware of.

My practice is focused on supporting high achievers, people-pleasers, helping professionals, empaths and spiritually minded individuals. Clients who seek my care often describe a tendency to prioritize others needs over their own, juggling so many responsibilities they are left feeling burned out and exhausted.
Perhaps you have been struggling with anxiety, stress, or difficulties navigating relationships and boundaries.
Maybe you have experienced loss that has left you feeling consumed by waves of grief; or past traumas seem to be holding you back from your highest potential.

Feeling secure within ourselves is essential to our well-being and growth, but it’s often not what our experience offers. Perhaps you find it difficult to trust others, or connecting in a meaningful, consistent way. You might be easily anxious, self-doubting and ruminating, frequently wondering how you’re being perceived. Or you find yourself distant, closed off, but longing for safe connection. As a therapist for the past 14 years, I collaborate with adults as we teach their nervous system new ways to feel trusted and embodied safety, so they can thrive with deeper connection, confidence and authenticity.

I became a psychologist because I’ve experienced firsthand the power of therapy—how being truly seen, heard, and supported can open the door to healing and change. My own journey has shown me that, no matter how overwhelming life feels, growth is always possible with the right support. With a background in trauma, anxiety, and systemic barriers, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside others as they reclaim their stories and reconnect with their strength. I bring both clinical expertise and a deep personal understanding of the courage it takes to heal, creating a space where clients feel safe, empowered, and genuinely valued.

Psychological interventions are a way to understand, and change problematic behaviours and relationships that impede a person's development. I see the maladaptive patterns that people become embroiled in as knots, and psychotherapy as a way for people to untie the emotional knots they find themselves in. My approach is psychodynamic in orientation which means how to fundamentally change the negative patterns we continually make across multiple relationships. My particular skill is in working with and helping you to understand the emotional relationships people engage in and how these can have negative and positive consequences

I am an integrative psychodynamic therapist who employs evidence-based interventions to support my clients in developing a grounding sense of identity, a meaningful life with purpose, and fulfilling interpersonal relationships. The therapeutic process, in part, entails an exploration of early attachment, stressors and adversity, coping mechanisms, patterns in relating to others, and internal conflicts. My approach involves consideration of psychological distress in relation to social identity, self-esteem, and the fundamental human need for belongingness.

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.
How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.
Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.
How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
