Hoarding Therapists in Edmonton, AB
I work with individuals navigating grief, loss, uncertainty, CPTSD, life transitions, and those experiencing depression and sadness. After sessions, people have shared they feel calm, inspired, connected, confident and have a deeper sense of awareness and clarity.
Together, we work towards transformation at your pace, in a way that honours your whole self. As a starting point, we will connect in and attune with the body, building awareness around your 'felt senses' while mapping emotional patterns. Our main focus is to build awareness around what is happening for you while finding the tools that will help you feel better.

Choosing to embark on a therapeutic journey is no minor step. It demands a mix of emotions, time, and finance. More than anything, however, it requires courage. When someone musters the strength to seek help, it's not merely for the sake of talking. They are looking for a professional who is fully invested in their wellbeing.I deeply believe in the inherent potential every individual possesses to effect positive change in their lives. My mission is to equip you with the skills and tools necessary to realize that change. My focus is on adults, including (but not limited to) Veterans, First Responders, and those recovering from MVA.

“I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this.” (Emo Philips) Often our brains are wonderful! Also, wonderful brains do not stop us from having concerns or problems. Sometimes we are in the position of knowing some things, and also feeling and behaving in different ways - perhaps ways that are negative, not helpful, or destructive. The people I work with have a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, addictions, relationship issues, challenges with “getting going”, specific problem behaviours, as well as other issues.

Hey! Glad you're here. I'm Jilynne, a radically honest psychologist who appreciates humor & swearing (if you're into that). Therapy with me looks a little less like a stiff office conversation and a little more like an honest, thoughtful space where you can actually breathe.
I work with teens (age 14+), adults of all ages and genders, and couples. I have a special interest in supporting men's mental health.
My approach focuses on helping clients understand why certain patterns developed in the first place, and using that understanding to create meaningful change in the present.

You may have spent your whole life feeling like you are too much, too sensitive, or simply too different in ways others did not understand, often experiencing challenging relationships along the way. I work with ADHD and autistic adults, highly sensitive people, and those who feel overwhelmed or misunderstood. My intention is to help you feel grounded, validated, and supported in your nervous system. You are not your past experiences or the judgments of others. Together, we create a safe space where you can begin making sense of your experiences and move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.

Many people who struggle with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress, feel embarrassed or stigmatized. Others who struggle with domestic violence, relationship issues, faith based struggles, addiction issues, suicidal ideations, and anger management issues feel alone and unsure of who they can speak to. The foundation of my counselling practice is being compassionate and non-judgmental. I provide a person-centred practice which is about the client defining their own goals. I assure my clients they are in a safe place, confidentiality upheld, validated, and their life story and experiences honoured.

I thrive on navigating my clients through times of emotional distress, depression, anxiety, searching for meaning and purpose, need of connectedness, questioning of identity, values, looking for hope and peace. I feel confident in helping people find inner peace, mental tranquility and emotional calm through counselling and psychotherapy. I believe that a human being who is in search of reducing stress levels, boosting the quality of life, and achieving spiritual and mental sophistication and emotional stability would appreciate guidance and companionship. I would be glad to be at the service of my clients who feel this way.

Hair pulling and skin picking can be very challenging to manage independently - they are highly complex behaviours. Often these Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) result in shame and guilt. They can be isolating and worrisome. You may feel alone, but you are not. I specialize in treating BFRBs. I also regularly work with clients who have anxiety, obsessions and compulsions (OCD), impulsivity, and individuals who lack confidence (work, studies, relationships). As a Clinical Psychologist (22 years), my approach will help you to experience positive change in the short-term, and learn how to sustain this change in the long-term.

I love working with trauma and have specialized experience with first responders. I get how it changes the way you think, feel and act so can work with emotional dysregulation and behavioural issues too. Addiction is common, and often a way to cope, and it's the underlying issues I enjoy nurturing and healing. At times, I work with people struggling in relationships, sometimes with themselves, or as they adjust to relational changes or losses like grief. Other times I support people as they navigate life transitions like career changes, pregnancy or parenthood, health issues or effects of aging.

Maybe you've tried traditional talk therapy and still feel like something is missing. The truth is, healing isn’t just about words—it’s about how we experience life through our bodies and senses. Our stories, emotions, and wounds are stored deep within us, waiting to be seen, expressed, and transformed. Are you done feeling as if life is moving on autopilot? Do you long to regain a sense of control, reconnect with yourself, and live more fully? If you have a deep desire for self-exploration and healing—one that nurtures self-acceptance, compassion, and playfulness—then I invite you to take this step with me.

Have anxiety, depression, addiction, isolation, anger management issues, self-harm, or suicide ideation left you feeling concerned about the quality of your life? Perhaps you’ve struggled to resolve these issues on your own, to no avail? Are you ready to take 100% responsibility for your life and committed to making the necessary changes? Due to my own inter-generational trauma, I have a first-hand understanding of where you are in your life’s journey. I’d like you to know that the act of reaching out for help is a deeply courageous act, especially for most men, as most of us are conditioned to self-isolate and suffer in silence.

I see adult and adolescent clients from all sorts of different backgrounds, and who present with a variety of psychological concerns. However, I feel I’m especially well-suited to working with folks who are undergoing significant life change (e.g., job insecurity, divorce, bereavement, diagnosis, etc.), and who are experiencing anger, anxiety, or depression while traversing the flux. I’m also a keen advocate of mental wellbeing within a number of specific communities, including: veterans and first responders, men (cis and trans), LGBTQ+ folks, expatriates/immigrants, entrepreneurs, and people practicing consensual non-monogamy.

Tried the quick fixes? Drop in counselling sessions? A 30-day program? Yet you're still fighting the same battle. The truth most programs won't tell you: addiction is not a 30-day problem. It requires time, commitment, and long-term support with someone who truly understands. I've been where you are—38 years sober, 30+ years helping others. This is not walk-in counselling. This is us working together, weekly to address the psychological, emotional, and behavioral roots of your addiction so you can stop struggling and truly begin healing from it. Stop relapsing and begin your journey towards true healing.
