Humor, genuine compassion and empathy are necessary for healing - especially the humor part! Which is why they are benchmarks of my clinical practice. Combined together, the healing force created is a 'game changer' in people's lives. My approach to psychotherapy is person centered (congrats, you are unique! Your therapy should be too), grounded in attachment theory (relationships are our friend! Don't argue...everyone needs a friend) and developmental psychology (we all go through life changes, change suucks, but it's unavoidable). All this guides our path to wellness. Heads up - standard credential speech ahead...

I offer professional counselling service that recognizes and appreciates each individual’s unique personality and circumstances. My goal is to help every client thrive emotionally, psychologically, and intellectually. I am equally as interested to hear a client’s story of trauma, loss, regret, loneliness, and difficult family dynamics, as I am to listen about times filled with purpose and happiness. I pay close attention to what is said, in addition to what is left unsaid, to uncover patterns of core beliefs.

You want a LIFE more worth LIVING! Lets create that together! At all times, we are always doing the best we can with what we have: the knowledge, skills, experience and the information we posses in the moment. But, we often judge our "past" selves (and others in our past) from where we are at "today". This can create problems. With guidance, we can learn how our own (and others) past decisions, actions and experiences can create problems for us today. With understanding, we can learn to live more effectively! I invite you to join me for this journey!!

It focuses on client care and transformation. Our Edmonton Psychologists want to hear your story.

It isn’t necessary to stay stuck (or alone) in painful situations or challenging circumstances. Therapy/counselling provides an opportunity to uncover and discover new understandings, strengths and resiliencies in self (and others). Therapy provides a safe space to develop action plans to explore difficult life, or work transitions including separation, divorce, and job and career changes. Therapy also provides a safe space to explore and develop skills in managing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ODD, etc. No problem is too big for therapy.

I recognize that seeking out therapy is a challenging decision for many and I have the opportunity to work with people through what are some of the most difficult times in their lives. I do this work because I love to celebrate the successes, absurdities, and challenges of my clients. I like to approach my clients with warmth, humor, and directness and I work hard to make my office a safe place for people to explore the darkness and the light that exists within them, and indeed all of us.

Gambling Counsellors
A compulsive gambler or a pathological gambler is someone who is unable to resist his or her impulses to gamble. The urge to gamble becomes so great that tension can only be relieved by more gambling.

There is a very fine line between problem gambling or Edmonton gambling addiction and gambling too much. The critical sign of problem gambling is often hidden from awareness, with denial. Many gamblers in Edmonton typically do not know they have a problem. Admitting you have a problem, or may have a problem, is the first step to recovery.

Treatment options include individual and group psychotherapy, and self-help support groups such as Gamblers Anonymous (a 12-step program for gamblers). Abstinence principles that apply to other types of addiction are also relevant in the treatment of compulsive gambling behavior in Edmonton.

Recently, medications such as antidepressants, opioid antagonists, and mood stabilizers have been shown to be beneficial in combination with gambling treatment by a Edmonton gambling counsellor or gambling counsellors in Edmonton or those experienced with gambling behaviors in Edmonton.
