I specialize in supporting teens and adults with life stressors, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship dynamics to improve their quality of life. Low cost, accessible email counselling is also available. I view counselling as a collaborative, empathetic, non-judgemental conversation that allows you to mindfully process your daily experiences while I bring forth clinical understandings. My interest in counselling stemmed from my own mental health struggles and hesitancy with counselling. As a result, sessions are real, good-humored, and focused on building client self-awareness and personalised coping strategies.

Connection isn’t just about relationships with others — it’s about feeling steady in yourself, secure in your body, and clear about what you want. I work with folks exploring intimacy, identity, and emotional healing, especially around sex and relationships. Maybe you’ve felt shut down, stuck in people-pleasing, or caught in patterns that don’t feel like you — like using sex to numb, seeking validation, or avoiding closeness. You’re not broken. These are coping strategies that once made sense. In therapy, we’ll meet those parts with care, not shame, and support you in moving toward deeper authenticity, safety, and connection.

If so, I would love to support you in that quest!
Maybe that doesn't describe YOU, but it described someone in your life (such as a partner or adult child). I can also help you better understand and support your loved one.

Many things in our lives are on a continuum, including the intensity of the problem, resilience, resourcefulness, and healing. Sometimes we need more guidance and help than other times, and sometimes we feel that we can manage on our own. The striving to heal or cope at our best may be subtle or more apparent in our lives, which helps to realize that change is needed, contemplate it, and act. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, eclectic, and trauma-informed.

Brainspotting Counsellors
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
